DESCRIPTION
This visualization compares the check-out counts of two soul albums with two indie rock albums, which are ‘back to black’, ‘19’, ‘vampire weekend’, and 'fleetFoxes’. Examining the pattern of change of those four albums from 2008 - 2017 brings up analysis of the correlation between soul album and indie rock, and push and pull between culture events and album checkout numbers.
DESIGN IDEA
Utilized turntable as a metaphor for the general visualization shape. For the functional purpose of comparing 4 CDs at the same time, I decided to split a CD into two parts. Using two curved sides to compare each pair while the top curve shape is rotating for the purpose of visually compelling and functionality.
